I Lead a Charmed Life

An old-school picture of Leish, Court, and I. :)

"A friend knows the song of your heart, and can sing it back to you when you've forgotten the words." -Unknown

I am beyond blessed. I have some of the most amazing friends I could ever ask for. I cannot thank God enough for my wonderful friends Eleisha, Courtney, Liz, KC, Joseph, Haliaka,Lauren Mugar, and so many people. I love all of these friends dearly, but I do miss them so much when they're gone. So, I'll reflect on them and what they've taught me:

1. Eleisha-I am SO glad that she has finally come back to me after being gone for 2 years. This girl is simply amazing. She has taught me to be happy, to work hard, to play hard, to serve others, and to follow the Savior. She is one of the most happy, generous, sincerely kind, and amazing people you will ever meet.
2. Courtney-I love her and miss her lots. Courtney is an outstanding example of peace, joy, and kindness. She does things for the right reasons, and always has a listening ear and a shoulder to cry on.
3. Liz (AKA my sister)-Liz is honestly one of the most kind and guileless people you will ever meet. She does everything for anyone, and always does the most thoughtful things for others. She has taught me to be more observant of those around me, to be patient, to love others, and to love and follow the Savior.
4. KC-KC is like my big bro. He takes care of me and I don't know where I'd be without him helping me each step of the way. KC has taught me to dream big and to work hard towards these dreams. He has also taught me that the best friends are those who are there in hard times. Not every moment in life is full of sunshine, so it's always good to be that shoulder to cry on for your friends.
5. Joseph-Joseph has taught me a lot, unbeknownst to him. He has taught me to be strong, to be fiercely loyal to those you love, and to focus on the positive. Joseph sees the good in others, and will earnestly try to help everyone, even if you are a crazy, hair-brained mess after finals. :) I sure miss him.
6. Haliaka- She has been my friend through so many years. Her constant kindness, smile, and warm heart never fail to make me happy. I have learned to smell the roses from her. She has a calming spirit in which she makes others feel good about themselves and others. I wish I could be like her in this regard. She has taught me to focus on the most important things in life such as your family and the Gospel, and to love others and the Lord above all.
7. Lauren Mugar-What a sweetheart!! I have learned to be calmer, to listen to others, to have adventures, and to take time to relax from Lauren. She will be leaving on a mission soon, and I will sure miss this amazing gal!!

I am so grateful for my amazing friends and for all they have taught me, and continue to teach me. I hope that I can someday be half the outstanding friends that they are to me. I am so lucky. I lead a charmed life. Life is simply wonderful!!

Love, Janae :)

New Year, New Apt., New Job, Oh My Awesome!!

Visiting Eleisha in San Diego. WOW!! What a blast. This is at the San Diego Temple. What a GORGEOUS temple!!

The only thing constant in my life is change. How awesome is that? I love that!! Life has been full of fun changes lately to keep it interesting. That has been keeping me busy, and I've had a lot of fun in the meantime. :)

Fun new changes:
-Starting my LAST semester at BYU. That's crazy. I love it here and it's exciting to graduate, but at the same time, I will really miss this place.
-Moving into a new apartment. It's a nice and cozy apartment that I get to share with my besties Ariane and Eleisha, so I love it.
-Starting a new job as a CNA at Provo Rehab and Nursing.
-Getting promoted at this job, and becoming a nursing quality assurance interviewer. I am not exactly sure what the official title is, but basically I get to interview residents about the care that they receive here. I like talking to people, and it is good preparation for an MPH, so I like it a lot. I also enjoy not having to do the dirty work for at least one day a week. :)
-Starting my ESL Practicum with Mrs. Sellers. I have volunteered with her before, so I am pretty familiar with her policies and classroom, but it's a bit different doing a practicum than simply volunteering. The kids are pretty rambunctous, but I think they're fun and am excited to get to teach them. :)
-Joining a different intramural soccer team this semester. I am on the legit QUICK team. We have t-shirts and everything. I just had a game tonight so it was fresh on my mind, but I LOVED the synergy, clear communication, and unselfishness of this team. I'm glad I'm playing on their team. I am also especially happy because my friend, Lee J, who was on my intramural team in the summer is our goalie. I played sweep and he played goalie in the summer together, so we communicate well, and I trust his opinion. I loved our game today. A well-earned 2-2 tie!!
-Going rock climbing at the Quarry with Eleisha!! That was a new and perfect weekend activity. Yay for fun changes!!

Life is good. There is so much good out there-just choose to see it. I love you all!!
